Although there are many types of halva, in Israel it is made only from sesame seeds. The halva I offer is made from Tahini with Dibs and Silan (as opposed to industrial products that use mainly glucose and sugar).
Halva, like Tahini, is rich in iron, calcium, magnesium and potassium and low in sodium.
The most popular sandwich in Israel consists of chocolate for spreading and Halva together, also popular is the Babka cake filled with this delicious combination.
Do you want to impress your guests with dessert?
Crumble it on vanilla ice cream, and sprinkle some Dibs or Silan over.
This Halva with chocolate and coffee is best served next to coffee. What a delight!
