Pava is a local plant that has been grown since biblical times. In the Bible it is mentioned among the important vegetables for man - for food and fodder. In Egypt, the bean was considered the national dish. No wonder the Jewish immigrants from Egypt brought with them the fried or baked bean pods.
The bean is rich in protein, and in folk medicine it is considered a diuretic, purifier, expectorant and tonic.
