Perfect natural candy!
I told some of you about my special love for citrus trees. My father, who is one of the citrus and subtropical growing experts in Israel, had a citrus orchard and some of my beautiful memories are related to the smell of citrus blossoms, heart to heart conversations with my father while spraying the trees and the taste of a tangerine that has just been picked from the tree at the end of work day.
All of this comes to mind when I bite into the dried tangerine, but that's not why I like it so much. It's simple: this is the most delicious dried fruit I know!
The tangerines can also be cut into thin strips and added to a green salad, or you can let it star as one of three ingredients: young spinach leaves, slices of dried tangerines, chopped cashews with a sauce made from olive oil, mustard, lemon and dibs.
Another idea for a festive rice full of winter scents: Prepare balsamic whole rice according to the instructions. When ready transfer to a bowl and add a little lemon juice, a little orange juice, lemon zest and thin slices of dried tangerines, finely chopped mint and roasted pumpkin seeds. It will be a wonderful side dish to meat, chicken, fish or Labaneh cheese.
